Pilocarpine provokes pupils constriction and decreases pressure in the eyes. The medicine treats elevated pressure in open-angle glaucoma and reduces eye pressure before surgery. The medication is used alone and along with other drugs.

Before using Pilocarpine you should wash hands properly.
Pull the lower eyelid down in order to form a pocket next to the eye.
Brace the bottle on the nose or forehead bridge.
Tilt the head back and then squeeze the medicine into the eye.
Close eyes slowly. Keep eyes closed for about one - two minutes.
Avoid rinsing the dropper.
Wait 5 - 10 min. before you can use another eye medicine.
The starting dosage is one or two drops 6 times every day, dependant on glaucoma severity and on the reaction. In a serious attack, the doctor may advise you to apply drops in the unaffected eye too.

If you missed a dose, take it as soon as possible. If it is time for the next dosage, you have to omit the missed one and follow the regular dosing. Remember that you can't take two dosages at a time.

Pilocarpine is to be stored at 68 - 77 degrees F (20 and 25 degrees C). Keep the medication away from light, heat and moisture. Pilocarpine should be unreachable for kids and pets.
