Retin-A improves skin texture and appearance. It produces superficial epidermis peel. Retin-A produces effects on epidermis and dermis. The main benefit of the drug is that it reduces sunlight effects which provoke aging by speeding the replacement of surface cells.

You should apply a thin layer of the medication to the area affected once per day at bedtime. Use a cotton swab when applying the liquid. Wash hands after the use. Do not apply near mouth, eyes, mouth, open cuts as the medicine irritates sensitive skin. Acne may worsen when the medicine is applied first; go on with the treatment. It generally takes 3 - 6 weeks before you can see the results. Wash you face with mild soap. Abrasive cleansers, medicated lotions and creams increase irritation of the skin. Consult the doctor if you have any questions. Other acne medications should be used with extreme caution during this therapy.

Tretinoin is vitamin A derivative. It irritates skin and makes skin cells of grow and die rapidly. The number of cells layers in the skin is reduced. In people with acne, new cells generally replace the cells of different pimples. Rapid cells turnover prevents the forming of new pimples. Tretinoin reduces wrinkles, zones of darkened skin which are the results of sun-damaged skin.

If a dose is missed, you can take it if it's within 4 hours. If later, you have to omit the dosage you have missed and follow your normal dosing. Remember that you cannot take two doses at a time to compensate the missed one.

Store the medication at 77 degrees F (that is 25 degrees C). Keep it away from sunlight, moisture and heat. The drug should be in a place unreachable for kids and pets.
