Fosinopril is intended to cure hypertension alone or together with other drugs. In combination with other medications the drug is used to treat heart failure. For other purposes the drug can be used only if it is recommended by the doctor.

Fosinopril belongs to angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors. Acting in the body it relaxes blood vessels thus helping to reduce blood pressure.

Fosinopril is not for all people. Patients with allergy to the medicine component or to other angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors and pregnant women (2nd/3rd trimesters) cannot be treated with this drug. If you have ever suffered from angioedema (swelling of the face, lips, tongue, throat, eyes, or hands; difficulty breathing and swallowing; or unusual hoarseness), including angioedema resulted from an ACE inhibitor treatment.
