Flunarizine is a drug that is effective for the prophylaxis of migraine, occlusive peripheral vascular disease, vertigo of central and peripheral origin, and as an adjuvant in treating epilepsy. The drug helps to decrease the severity and duration of paralysis attacks attributed to the more serious type of alternating hemiplegia.

Flunarizine is a calcium channel blocker. Sibelium belongs to selective calcium entry blockers with calmodulin binding properties and histamine H1 blocking activity.
